Business Financial Review · 30 minutes
- 1Where the money is goingRevenue, expenses, and margins, read together instead of one line at a time.
- 2Two or three real optionsIdeas that fit what you want from the business, not a generic checklist.
- 3The likely result of eachIncluding which options are long shots. No false hope.
- 4A straight answer on fitWhether working with Alan makes sense, and what it would cost, before you commit to anything.
Sound familiar?
The business is working. You just can't see what to do next.
- Revenue is coming in, but you're not sure where the profit goes.
- You know some expenses should go. You don't know which ones are safe to cut.
- Every decision lands on you, and there aren't enough hours in the day.
- Your accountant is hard to reach, and the advice you got didn't always hold up.
- The time it all takes is coming out of time with your family.
None of that means something is wrong with the business. It means you're making big calls without a clear read on the numbers. That's what the review is for.
How Alan works
Your goals first. Then the numbers. Then your options.
He starts with your why
Before looking at a single figure, Alan asks what you want the business to do for you: more income, more time, an exit, room to grow. The numbers only matter in that light.
He reads the whole picture
One ratio on its own can mislead you. Alan puts the financial and business ratios side by side to see which problem is actually driving the others.
He gives you options, honestly
You get choices, not orders, with the likely result of each. If something is a long shot, he'll say so. The decision stays yours.
And when you call, you'll hear back. Alan returns calls and emails within one business day.
How the review works
Three steps. About thirty minutes of your time.
Step 1
Pick a time
Choose a slot that works for you, Monday through Friday. Tell us a little about the business so Alan can prepare.
Step 2
Alan calls you
At the time you booked, on the number you gave. Have a recent profit and loss statement handy if you have one. If you don't, bring what you know.
Step 3
You decide
You'll leave with your options and Alan's honest read. If it makes sense to keep working together, he'll explain how and what it costs. If not, you keep the options.
No-obligation. No pressure to sign anything on the call.
Is this for you?
An honest filter
A good fit if you…
- Own an established business and make the final calls
- Want to understand your numbers, not just get a report
- Are weighing what to cut, where to invest, or how to get time back
- Prefer straight answers over sales talk
Probably not a fit if you…
- Want someone to promise you a specific dollar result
- Haven't started the business yet and just want a general chat
- Need someone to make the decisions for you

About Alan
Alan Apolinar
Alan has spent his career in accounting and finance. He built his own practice because he wanted to work directly with business owners, not behind a corporate desk.
His approach is simple. He puts himself in your shoes, figures out what you're trying to get out of the business, and works backward from there. He won't tell you what you want to hear. He'll tell you what the numbers say, and what your options are.
Questions
Before you book
Is this a sales call?
It's a working call. Alan will ask about your goals, look at what you have, and give you options you can use whether or not you work with him. If it makes sense to keep going, he'll tell you how. If it doesn't, he'll tell you that too.
What does it cost to work with Alan?
The review itself is no-obligation. If there's a fit, Alan will explain his fees on the call, before you commit to anything, so you can judge the cost against what's on the table.
Do my books need to be in order first?
No. A recent profit and loss statement helps, but plenty of owners come with rough numbers or none at all. Part of the review is figuring out what you can see and what you can't.
Is my financial information kept confidential?
Yes. What you share is used only to review your business and is not sold or shared for marketing. See the Privacy Policy below for details.
Do we need to meet in person?
No. The review is a phone call. Alan calls you at the time you book.
